for this studio project, we were given an alleyway with a level change and asked to give access through the alleyway, as well as access to a doorway on the second floor of one of these buildings. for my approach i knew i wanted to create the idea of exploration through my space. to achieve this goal i designed large cylindrical spaces “punched” through my stairs. i then investigated how slits through these cylinders created an interesting interaction with light.
