Final Field Composition
Field Iteration
Using my knowledge of geometric construction, I created three distinct field composition iterations, on 9x12 paper, to prepare for the final 22x30 composition. Through these iterations I tested structure that defined and guided the construction of the field, using a combination of cutting and folding techniques. This project prompted the investigation of the concept of a field. A field is not the same as a pattern, and therefore has different criteria. A field conveys the idea of continuing off the page but can also change in a way that does not need to be uniform like a pattern does.
